What is the CTRC certification?

CTRC stands for Certified Tax Representation Consultant - the premier credential from Tax Rep Network signaling proficiency in IRS representation. It is offered in two tracks: CTRC Resolution (collection and OIC work) and CTRC Audit (examination and appeals work).

How long do I have to complete the CTRC?

Purchasers have twelve months from the date of purchase to complete a CTRC program, after which the program closes out.

How long is the CTRC designation valid?

The CTRC is granted for a three-year period. Tax Rep Network contacts the holder during the third year about renewal.

How do I renew my CTRC?

You can renew by taking a Tax Rep renewal class within 12 months of expiration, attending the New England IRS Representation Conference during your renewal year, or attending the Tax Rep Summit during your renewal year.

Does the CTRC replace an EA or CPA license?

No. The CTRC is a designation that shows demonstrated proficiency in IRS representation. It does not replace the need to be an Enrolled Agent, CPA, or licensed attorney to practice before the IRS.
