We collect personal information necessary to provide IRS representation and tax resolution services. This includes: contact information (name, address, email, phone); government-issued identification numbers (Social Security Numbers, EINs, ITINs); IRS account information including transcripts, notices, and correspondence; financial information including income, assets, liabilities, and bank account details; and website usage data (cookies, IP addresses, browser type). We collect this information directly from you, from authorized third-party sources (including the IRS via Form 2848/8821 authorization), and automatically through our website.
Tax Rep Network LLC handles sensitive personal data including government identification numbers and financial records. This data is accessed, transmitted, and stored in compliance with IRS Publication 4557 (Safeguarding Taxpayer Data), the FTC Safeguards Rule (16 CFR Part 314), and applicable state law. Access is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information with: (a) IRS and other government agencies as authorized by you via Form 2848 or 8821; (b) technology service providers who host our systems (cloud storage, CRM, email platforms), each bound by confidentiality agreements; (c) professional advisors (attorneys, accountants) engaged to support your matter; (d) as required by law, court order, or regulatory authority. We do not share your information for third-party marketing purposes.
We retain client records, including tax documents and IRS correspondence, for a minimum of seven (7) years following the conclusion of an engagement, consistent with IRS recordkeeping guidance. Website usage data is retained for 12 months. Upon expiration of the retention period, records are destroyed using secure methods (shredding for physical records; certified deletion for digital records).
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, Tax Rep Network LLC will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law, including Connecticut General Statute § 36a-701b, within 60 days of discovery. Notification will describe the nature of the breach, data affected, steps taken, and recommended protective actions.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: the right to know what data we hold about you; the right to correct inaccurate data; the right to request deletion of your data (subject to our legal retention obligations); the right to data portability; the right to opt out of any sale of your data (we do not sell data); and the right to appeal our response to a rights request. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at team@taxrepnetwork.com. We will respond within 45 days, with one possible 45-day extension for complex requests.
Tax Rep Network LLC maintains a Written Information Security Program (WISP) as required under the FTC Safeguards Rule. Our WISP designates a qualified individual responsible for data security, identifies and assesses risks to client data, and implements administrative, technical, and physical safeguards proportionate to those risks.
