Eric L. Green is a partner of Green & Sklarz LLC, a boutique tax law firm in Connecticut. His practice focuses on civil and criminal tax controversies, representing individuals and businesses before the Internal Revenue Service, state taxing authorities, the U.S. Department of Justice Tax Division, and federal courts.
Eric is a nationally recognized tax attorney, author, educator, and founder of Tax Rep Network, where he helps tax professionals master IRS representation and build profitable tax representation practices. He is also at the forefront of applying artificial intelligence to IRS representation and professional tax education, developing tools that make decades of specialized tax controversy knowledge more accessible and actionable for practitioners.
Over the course of his career, Eric has taught more than 70,000 accountants, attorneys, enrolled agents, and other tax professionals on IRS representation and civil and criminal tax matters. He is a frequent speaker for national professional organizations and has become one of the country's best-known educators in IRS representation.
Eric is the founder of Tax Rep Network, a training, technology, and practice-development platform that teaches tax professionals how to resolve their clients' IRS problems and build successful IRS representation practices. Tax Rep Network brings together more than 25 years of Eric's tax controversy experience with an extensive library of training, case materials, practice tools, marketing resources, and technology designed specifically for tax professionals.
More recently, Eric has focused on the application of artificial intelligence to IRS representation and professional education. He is the driving force behind the Tax Rep Network AI Brain, an AI-powered knowledge platform built on Eric's decades of tax controversy experience, educational content, practice materials, and accumulated knowledge. The AI Brain is designed to give tax professionals rapid access to practical guidance on IRS representation while helping them learn, analyze client problems, and put that knowledge to work in their practices. Eric's work explores how AI can extend expert knowledge beyond traditional courses and reference materials, creating a more immediate and interactive way for professionals to learn and practice IRS representation.
Eric is the host of the Tax Rep Network Podcast and author of How to Build a Million Dollar Tax Representation Practice and the Insider's Guide series covering IRS offers in compromise, collections, tax debt resolution, payroll tax problems, reasonable compensation and IRS enforcement, and tax representation forms and practice tools.
He is a contributing columnist for Bloomberg Tax and has been quoted or featured in national media including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Bloomberg, Consumer Reports, MarketWatch, and TheStreet.
Eric's professional honors include recognition by Connecticut Super Lawyers in Tax Law and election as a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel. He was the American Bar Association's 2010 Nolan Fellow, has chaired the ABA's Closely Held Businesses Tax Committee, and is a past Chair of the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association's Tax Section.
Eric has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Connecticut School of Law and created the IRS Representation Certificate Program with the University of Connecticut School of Business.
Eric earned his B.B.A. in Accounting, with a minor in International Business, from Hofstra University; his J.D., with honors, from New England School of Law; and his LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York, as well as before the United States Tax Court, United States Court of Federal Claims, and United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
